This massive undertaking kicked off with only a handful of amazing talented creators. With our small team and a big idea, we knew it had to start at a good pace. Given the ambitious nature of the work—we wanted to create a lot of experiential materials but this first stage would take priority. As a product intent and reliant on learning a lot quickly and helping in such a large moment in the life of a homeowner, we knew it needed to be both very thoughtful.
One of our keystone features started with a simple interview. Asking the curious homeowner what level of interest they have in a remodel, where they are in their remodeling process, and providing a set of questions to help organize their thoughts into a backend readiness model that coordinates a relationship with a remodel expert like an interior designer or contractor.

Very early high-level view of the entire Jumpstarter experience sequence. Laid out end to end, we mapped interactions while we understood and validated the overall user-experience. Visual design and UI was built in parallel with each step being carefully mapped to a tightly curated content design rhythm.
Multiple tools overlap into the Recap page like the Try on your Style (TOYS) feature, the Measurement App, and Rebode Vision 3D visualization applet. Jumpstarter brings it all together in a novel first draft for a homeowner looking for help for the next step.
I worked directly on UI, Art Direction, and UX, along with UX with Heather van Helvoort, copy and content with Anne R Misner, and our creative lead and team VP Cliff Drane with Product Management by Philip Cherian. The development team includes but is not limited to Alex Liang, Loren Erickson, Alejandro Ugalde, Greg Moser, Kineta Chien, and many others.
